Obituary for Arthur James Donald Campbell

CAMPBELL, Arthur James Donald “Art” –
Athur James Donald Campbell passed away peacefully at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, with his family by his side. He has been reunited with the love of his life, Rose (2008), his son Gary (2004) and grandson, Michael (2017).

Cherished father of Bob (Helena) and Ron (Chris). Adored Grandpa of Christopher (Kaylan), Elizabeth (Dean), Patrick (Tori), Amanda (Brad), Andrew, Tony (Amy) and Julia. Special great grandpa of Clara, Ryley, Maddox, Abigail, Hugh, Hazel, Alice, Nelly, Rowan and Calum. Very special friend and partner of Barbara Greaves. Dear brother of Jean Toleff (The late William), Marjorie Henhawke (The late Clarence), late Jack, Donald (Lorraine), Doug and the late David. Brother-in-law of Frank Cherri (Jennifer) and Nick Cherri (Teresa). Art will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, extended family and lifelong friends.

Born on December 8, 1935, in Galt, Ontario, to the late Arthur Sr. and Jeannie Campbell. Art was hard working all throughout his life. He served our country in the Korean war and was an active member with the Korean Veterans Association. Art was a long-time employee of Hostess Frito-Lay in Cambridge, Ontario, retiring after many years of employment. Art was true to his faith. He was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Gregory’s church.

Above all, Art loved and supported his family, spending time with them and watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.

Thank you to the staff at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital for their compassion and ensuring Art stayed comfortable and well taken care of. Special thank you to Barbara for taking good care of him over the last few years.

Resting at Corbett Funeral Home (95 Dundas St, Cambridge, Ontario) where family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023, at St. Gregory’s RC Church at 11:00 AM with Father Karomi Khalid officiating with the assistance of Deacon Nick Cherri.

Memorial donations made to St. Gregory’s church or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A reception will be held in the church hall immediately after the Funeral service.
