Obituary for Emma Shirley Oxford

Emma Oxford
December 19th, 1943 – February 9th, 2024
After a brief illness, Emma passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, her lifelong Lord and Friend, on Friday, February 9th, 2024 at the age of 80. Emma was greatly loved by her siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, previous co-workers, and church family members--many of whom were lifelong friends. Emma’s encompassing friendly and loving nature and her cheery greeting on the phone or in person will not be forgotten. Emma will be especially missed by her siblings, Ronald Oxford, Mary Bracher, William Oxford (Rose), Eldon Oxford, Marie Rumsby, 12 nieces and nephews, and 23 great nieces and nephews. Emma was predeceased by her parents, Theophilus (Ted) and Elizabeth Oxford, sister Catherine (Kay) Oxford, brother-in-law Harry Bracher, sisters-in-law, May Oxford and Norma Oxford, niece Brenda Andrade, and great nephews Darren Ranton and Dylan Andrade.
Emma was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and moved to Ontario in the 1950’s. For many years she was a diligent employee of Wooley Shoe Factory followed by many more years at Tim Horton’s. Most of Emma’s friendships were sustained over cups of coffee!
A one hour visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Assembly, 127 Hespeler Rd, Cambridge, Ontario, N1R 3G9, (519)-621-6310. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Tim Horton’s Foundation Camps or to Kids@Calvary – www.mycalvary.life would be appreciated by her family.
