Veiga, Maria De Conceicao (nee Da Silva) – It is with tremendous sorrow that the family of Maria Veiga announce her passing, surrounded by her family at St. Mary’s General Hospital on Monday February 27, 2023, at the age of 66. Loving and devoted wife of Rui Veiga, who together shared 46 years of marriage. Cherished mother of Monica (Gary) and Scotty (Angela). Proud grandmother of Nevaeh, Mateo, Camilla, Mia, and Cristiano. Maria will also be sadly missed by her mother Maria Da Silva, predeceased by her father Leonildo Da Silva, survived by her sisters Fatima (Jose Luis) and Nina (Manuel) as well as her extended family and large circle of friends. Maria drew people to her and considered all those she met to be her friend. Maria will forever be remembered for her devotion to her family, they were her world. Her big heart, smile and laugh will be missed by all who knew her. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge, where family and friends will be received on Sunday March 5, 2023 from 5-9p.m. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday March 6, 2023 at 11a.m. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. Mary’s General Hospital would de be greatly appreciated by the family.
