Obituary for Olivia Monteiro (Coelho)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Olivia Monteiro, who passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024, at Innisfree Hospice, surrounded by her family. She was 78 years of age. Loving wife and soulmate of 62 years to Jose, beloved Mother to Paulo (Mena), Jeanne (Joe) and Elizabeth (Bryce), and adoring Vavó to her seven grandchildren: Laura and Sarah, Liam and Olivia, Charlotte, Simon and Evelyn-Rose.

Olivia was born and raised in Santa Maria, Portugal and immigrated to Canada in 1966, where she worked hard to build a life and family with her husband. She found much joy and fulfilment in caring for her family and her home, doting on her grandchildren, and living out her strong faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, and she will be profoundly missed.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff at Innisfree House for honouring our Mother so lovingly in her final days.

Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge, where family and friends will be received on Monday February 12, 2024, from 5-9p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Elgin St. N., Cambridge, on Tuesday February 13, 2024, at 10a.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring to convey their condolences may choose to make a memorial contribution to Innisfree House or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Forever in our hearts, we love you, Mom.
