Obituary for Theresa Gaetana Bugeja (Camilleri)

Theresa Gaetana Bugeja (née Camilleri) passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital on the night of January 20th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Our sweet Theresa leaves behind her husband Joseph (“Zeppy”) and daughters Miriam (Rick) and Shirley (Claude). Theresa adored her granddaughters Alexandra and Hanna, the greatest joy of her life. Theresa also enjoyed the company of dogs, always spoiling the fur babies of family and friends.

Theresa was born in Qormi, Malta, on August 8th, 1939 and worked as a nurse’s aid in an old-aged home. She fell in love with Joseph and he later sponsored her to come to Canada where she was part of the first group of people to arrive on Canada’s 100th birthday. Our adorable demonju (little devil) is most remembered as being feisty and an exceptional home cook. Her love for Malta never waivered and she constantly thought about and missed her family overseas.

Find comfort, our sweet Theresa, in the arms of fond friends and family who have passed and
wait for your company in the Kingdom of Heaven. We take solace knowing while your body rests in peace your spirit will shine in our fondest memories.

“For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity.” -William Penn
